For a much needed weekend escape, T and I traveled to the
Huron House Bed & Breakfast in Oscoda, Michigan {I couldn't help but think about how that is also the hometown of Timothy McVeigh}. The owners of the B&B were very friendly and accommodating to the prior email questions and during the reservation process.
The room itself was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We couldn't have asked for more in that sense. Each room had it's own individual balcony and this was the view off of ours. We were lucky to have such mild weather in November {50 degrees}, but it wasn't quite beach weather. Growing up in "the country" I'm used to clear, starry nights, but T was quite impressed with absence of light pollution in the sky.
Breakfast was simple, but good, and served promptly at 8:10 am {even though we requested 8:30.. but we were already up watching the sun rise and channel surfing}. Overall it was a relaxing mini-vacation and we hope to go back in the summer when we can take advantage of the beach and the lake.
Note: pack things for dinner or plan on eating at the local Big Boy - not much is around in the way of restaurants.
